Our Story

Founded by Cijo James and Benny Rodriguez, Popular Pharmacy began with a vision to blend deep pharmaceutical expertise with outstanding customer service. Cijo’s extensive knowledge in the pharmacy industry and his dedication to customer service, combined with Benny’s passion for community engagement, laid the foundation for a pharmacy that values accuracy, speed, and personalized care.

In 2022, driven by a desire to extend our reach, Cijo and Benny partnered with Anil Gottimukkala and Maria Mendez to open a new location in Roma, Texas. Anil, with over a decade of experience at HEB in Rio Grande City, and Maria, a Pharmacy Technician with more than 20 years in independent pharmacies across Starr County, joined forces to help us expand our commitment to exceptional care. In August 2023, Popular Pharmacy Roma opened its doors, continuing our tradition of excellence.
